Robyn hired a courier service to make deliveries. As her business grew, spreadsheets for client reminders became burdensome.
Although a mentor helped her turn her idea into a business, it was a steep learning curve. “When you first start your business, everything will be a challenge. “You must learn every part of your business,” Robyn said. “Be a jack of all trades until you can afford to outsource or hire.”
Robyn realised she needed a more efficient system. “Spreadsheets are great if you’ve got only a single screen full of information, but when you add extra tabs, it becomes quite difficult to navigate and find all the information you need,” Robyn said.
Robyn realised that Little Birdy & Co. needed a specialised software solution. It should organise and manage recurring orders and log client requests and reminders. After trying several software options with disappointing results, Robyn found Zoho Creator, a low-code app development platform.
It didn’t take long to realise she had made the right decision. “I knew it would take a lot of time and effort to build a bespoke system, but from early on, I could tell that Creator would work for me.”
Relevate Continues to Support Little Birdy’s Growth
After success with Zoho Creator, Robyn explored Zoho One’s other business tools. She then hired Relevate, a Zoho partner, to improve digital processes. The Relevate team created a process to auto-generate a CRM contact for every order.
It will also update an existing contact’s details with a new order. The CRM system sends automated follow-ups to clients. They remind clients to update their employee birthday lists.
The Relevate team has supported Little Birdy & Co.’s development. They are now helping Robyn set up a client portal. It will let clients update their details. Relevate streamlined Little Birdy & Co.’s digital processes, improving efficiency.
These changes ensured that Robyn could enjoy running her business and bringing joy to Brisbane’s workplaces. “I never set out to start a business. That was never my intention. And I’d never seen myself as being in the kitchen and baking for the rest of my life. But now I’ve fallen in love with my business and can’t imagine doing anything else,” Robyn said.
