100 Phone Calls a Day
My first day at work after college had just begun. I had just been assigned my first responsibility. Every day, I get around 100 calls. There’s nothing to worry about.
I rapidly felt disappointed when I contacted each number and was diverted to voicemail after voicemail. A robotic voice instructed me to leave a message at the tone. I followed through with a planned message for each individual. I could have passed for a machine.
I dialed 103 different numbers. Only ten individuals will be rescued. Three real talks took place. The conference I was promoting piqued the curiosity of two individuals. No one paid for a seat.
Most sales representatives would consider it an excellent day.
There’s a better method to get people’s attention.
It’s unfortunate that these two numbers represent the current status of sales (and a very agonising point in my life):
Only 1% of phone calls get a response.
Sales emails are opened by less than a quarter of the time.
Buyers no longer tolerate conventional sales practises, which makes it tough to make transactions.
Many sales professionals are still focused on closing prospects. Even if they aren’t ready to purchase, instead of assisting and creating connections. As a result, customers tend to disregard them. This implies that even the best sales representatives are fortunate to obtain a call back.
Salespeople and training are lagging behind in their ability to react to the changing needs of customers. If you don’t adjust to the buyer’s needs. You’ll miss out on additional sales and money.
